John Chaney

John Richard Chaney passed away on June 12, 2023. Preceded in death by his father John Chaney.

John is survived by his mother Jean Chaney; sisters Deborah Chaney and Pamela R. Stallings (Kevin); brother David M Chaney (Rechelle); nephews Chris Hardwick, Aaron Chaney (Kati), Tucker; nieces Alonna, Addelynn and Annalise.

He was born in Nashville, TN on April 9th, 1958 and graduated from Maplewood High School in 1979 where he played in the band. Johnny loved music and could play both guitar and drums. He played both the guitar and drums with his friends on Saturdays. In addition to playing music, Johnny also enjoyed sports. He was an avid fan of Titans Football, UT Vols Football, and NASCAR racing. Above all else though, Johnny cherished his family and friends. His pride was his Jack Russell Terrier dog, Summer who brought him a tremendous amount of joy.

Johnny will always be remembered as a kindhearted person who loved his family and friends deeply. His passing has left a hole in the hearts of all those who knew him.

There will be a Graveside service held for John at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville on Thursday, June 15th at 12:30 PM.
