Joe Petty

Joe Steele Petty of Franklin, Tennessee passed away peacefully January 14, 2023.

Joe was born in Carthage, Tennessee on February 16, 1933 to Lester and Electa Petty. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Olamae Alford Petty, brothers Rob Neal Petty, Victor T. Petty, Dr. Gordon Petty, and Ray Petty.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 12 years Barbara Jean Petty, daughter Tammy Petty Brewer, grandson Edward Grayson Brewer (Jennifer), stepchildren Sandra Arevalos, Rhonda Palenske, Linda Sasieta, and Stephen Palenske.

Joe was a gentle, thoughtful, wise, funny, quiet, and loving man. He was an avid reader, especially mystery novels. He never met a crossword puzzle or solitaire game he didn’t like and loved to travel to the Smoky Mountains and Sanibel Island, but his favorite place was at home, with his Bible and most importantly his family.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday January 19, 2023 9:30 AM until Service time at 11:30 AM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville TN 37221. With burial to follow at 12:30 PM at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
