Jewell O. Parker Daugherty

Bon Aqua, TN

Jewell Oneda Parker Daugherty went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2023, at the age of 93. Jewell was born in Bon Aqua Tennessee, October 29, 1929 (day of the great depression) to Lewis E Tidwell and Annie Lee Dedman Tidwell. Besides her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her husbands, W.L. Parker and Harding Daugherty, son, Duane Parker, as well as her brothers John E. Tidwell and Harvell Jack Tidwell. 

 She is survived by her loving son, Nathan Parker and his wife Wendy, 4 close Sisters; Hazel Marie Buttery, Magaline Fowlkes, Elizabeth Savely and Sarah Brake, sister-in-law Dolly Tidwell, as well as her 4 cherished grandchildren; Brad Parker, Pateon Parker, Jade Parker Henson and Spencer Parker; 10 special great grandchildren; Summer Parker, Wyatt Parker, Zarryn Parker, Kaelli Parker, Sunnie Henson, Charlie Parker, Julie Parker, Serinity Westmoreland, Goldie Henson and Hazel Henson, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. 

The church community and family were of the utmost importance. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church as well as their oldest current member. Jewell was involved as a Sunday school teacher and in all church activities, especially singing. Everyone enjoyed her delicious cooking and scrumptious baking, always coming back for more. Jewell had an easy-going nature, infectious smile, and a little stubbornness which all of us adored. She was known by many and loved by all. 

A public visitation will be on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 11:30 am until the Celebration of Life 1:30 pm all held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Judson Baptist Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
