Jerry Earl Hodges, age 77, of Charlotte, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26th. He was born on April 20, 1948, in Memphis, TN to Howard Earl and Katie Lewis Hodges.
A graduate of Cumberland High School in 1966, Jerry went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business from Middle Tennessee State University. Jerry kept in touch regularly with his high school friends, and his Sigma Nu, fraternity brothers from college. He worked in sheet metal tirelessly for Local 177 for an astonishing 51 years until his retirement and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his leisure time. He is remembered as a little league ball coach for his kids and many others. Jerry was a steadfast and loyal friend, worker, father, grandfather, and husband.
Jerry was a proud father of three, Marie, Jeremy, and Amy, from a prior marriage(Diane Davies). Later in life he met and married his wife of 14 years, Judy.
He is preceded in death by parents, Howard Earl Hodges and Katie Lewis Hodges, sister Carol McCool Metcalfe, and his step son Tom Broatch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Heath Hodges, and three children: Marie Westcott (Dwayne), Jeremy Hodges (Leah), and Amy Rewinski (Matthew). His grandchildren: Marion Burch (Remington), Isaac Westcott (Mattie), Chandler Hodges(Whitney), Madison Ballentine (Ethen), Makaiya Ray (Dawson), and David Broatch(Sarah). His great grandchildren: Liviana Broatch and Waylon Ballentine. His daughter-in-law: Carol Broatch. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces, Kristy Wolf (Joe),Suzanne Bauer (Brad), and Kelly Riley (Scott).
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dickson Veterans of Foreign Wars building on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 3pm-10pm. A BBQ luncheon will be provided. Please feel free to bring a side or dessert if you wish or, if not, please just join us to share memories. Children are welcome. No outside alcohol allowed, but there is a bar area if you would like to raise a cold one in memory of Jerry. The address is 215 Marshall Stuart Dr,Dickson, TN 37055.
Graveside Service arrangements are still being organized and will be held at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens. All are invited to join at that time.
