Janice H. Adams, a beloved pillar of her family and community, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the age of 87. Born on August 23, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee, Janice dedicated her life to serving others and enriching the lives of those around her.
Janice's career was marked by her tenure in the human resources department at Baptist Hospital, where she made significant contributions over many years, particularly within personnel. Known for her dedication and attention to detail, she was influential in the lives of both colleagues and patients alike. Janice took great pride in her work, but her true passion lay in helping others, demonstrated through her commitment to various community endeavors. She loved working with credit women, who assisted people with their business needs and transactions, showcasing her unwavering support for those striving for success.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Janice devoted much of her time to her faith and her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she was a cherished Sunday school teacher for many years, sharing her love for the Lord and instilling values in countless children. Her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Janice is survived by her loving daughter, Lori (James) Butler, and her adored granddaughter, Amber (John) Vongsamphanh, along with her precious great grandchildren Charlotte Estelle and Audrey Frances Vongsamphanh. Their lives are a testament to her nurturing spirit and the values she instilled in them, reminding everyone of the remarkable person she was.
She was predeceased by her father, W. C. "Bunk" Hornal, and her mother, Estelle Anderson Hornal. The legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind will continue to shine through her family and friends.
A graveside service to honor Janice H. Adams will take place on February 10, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Her life, characterized by faith and love for her family, will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
