Janet M. White

Janet M. White, age 89, beloved friend, family member, and animal lover, passed away on July 17, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on January 26, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan. Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Sugg White, parents, Robert and Tillie Rankin, and her sister, Jean Howitt.

She is survived by her daughter, Monica Lynn White, and several nieces and nephews.

Janet lived a life filled with cherished memories and meaningful experiences. She enjoyed attending Detroit Tigers games in her youth. In her leisure time, Janet found solace in the simple pleasures of life. Sitting in her chair and watching television provided her with relaxation and entertainment.

Janet was well-known for her unwavering devotion to animals. She had a special affinity for cats and dogs. Janet saw in animals the purest form of love and companionship.

She touched the lives of those around her through her kindness, generosity, and genuine concern. Janet enjoyed cake, butterscotch and Werther’s candy. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held on July 20, 2023. The public is welcome from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to pay their respects. After visitation services will be a celebration of life at 11:30 a.m. All services will be held at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
