Jane Fagg Francis, age 96, of Nashville, Tennessee died on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellen White Fagg and Merlin E. Fagg, and her husband, Clyde M. Francis, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Diane Francis Johnston, Richard (Ginger) Francis, and C. Milton (Donna) Francis III; grandchildren, Andy (Kate) Harris, Christopher Johnston, Martha (Brent) Heath, Sherry (Tyler) Merideth, Thomas C. (Sara) Francis, Ellen (Marty) Ross, Elizabeth (Jordan) Miller, Clyde M. (Clay) Francis IV; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was born in Greenville, North Carolina on October 15, 1927. She attended schools in Tennessee and North Carolina, later graduating from Sullins College. She attended UT where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. She and Clyde Francis were married on December 27, 1947, and lived in East Tennessee until they moved in 1959 to Nashville.
Jane was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she served as an adult coordinator, co-chairman of the Spiritual Formation Committee, Representative of the District Spiritual Formation Committee, and served as a church trustee. She was a member of the Robert Cook chapter of the DAR and the PEO chapter N.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church on Friday, July 19, 2024, with visitation starting at 1:00pm. The service will begin at 2:00pm with Reverend Brian Marcoulier and Reverend Dr. Vin Walkup officiating. A private burial for the family will take place prior to the service.
