James Reeks Carney

James Reeks Carney age 87, of Old Hickory, TN went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2022. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Margaretta Carney, parents George Reeks Carney and Gilda McGinnis Carney.

Survived by sons, Larry Reeks (Sherry) Carney, Wade Carney, grandchildren; Elizabeth Carney, Erin (Bert) Young, Amanda (Roy) Stanley, Matthew (Hayley) Carney, greatgrandchildren; Nora, Flynn, Roy Jr., Jordan, Nolen, Dylan, sister; Pat Carney Bolin, brother; Gary Wayne (Janice) Carney, loyal loving friend; Minnie Brown, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

James was a loving father, grandfather, and avid coffee drinker. He was a hard worker, very kind, and loved everyone. He retired as a sheet metal worker from TVA which he worked for many years. James was a member of East Nashville General Baptist Church. He enjoyed, played, and sang gospel music with the family for many years. James traveled to many churches and loved the Lord. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports but most of all spending time with his family.

There will be visitation Monday, August 29, 2022 from 11:00am ~ 1:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
