Preceded in death by his parents, Nina Elise Little Vandiver and James Robert Vandiver, Sr.; brother, Leland Vandiver. Survived by his wife of 71 years, Jean L. Vandiver; children, Linda V. Justice and Nancy V. Ellis (David); grandchildren, Jonathan M. Higgs, Allison Higgs Ruff (Joey), Keith C. Ellis and Scott L. Ellis; great-grandchildren, Madison L. Stancliff and Connor J. Ruff.
