Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Sain Fry, 57, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away at her home on October 24, 2026, surrounded by her entire family, her parents, and her sister.

She was born April 18, 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Bill and Linda Sain of Birmingham, Alabama. Jackie graduated from Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, North Carolina, in 1987. That fall she enrolled as a freshman at David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University). She graduated from the Belmont School of Nursing in 1992 and began her career as a registered nurse that year at Saint Thomas West Hospital (now Ascension Saint Thomas West).

Jackie met Mark Fry at Lipscomb in the fall of 1987, on the steps of the student center. They began dating in 1988 and were married on May 19, 1990. They shared more than 36 years of marriage. When one of them was down, the other stepped up. Together they faced Mark's multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 1998. When Jackie was diagnosed with cancer, they faced her illness as a team. She worked until her gastric cancer diagnosis in March 2026. She faced her illness with grace and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Fry; their children, Kendrick & Emma Doss Fry, Clark & Cailey Burman Fry, and Anna Fry Holland & Drew; their grandchildren, Tallulah and Leighton. Jackie's parents, Bill and Linda Sain; her siblings, Suzette Sain, Billy & Ginny, Sain, Kyle & Caroline. Her Sain nieces and nephews: Alden Sain, Jack Bailey Sain, Cooper Sain, Kathryn Sain, Will Sain, and Jacob Sain.

Her mother in law, Rosemary Fry; her brothers-in-laws and their wives, Paul & Bridgette Fry, Stephen & Tanya Fry, Bruce & Cindy Fry, and Brent & Melinda Fry.

She is also loved by her nieces and nephews on Mark's side, Taylor & Morgan Fry, Calie & Lee Collier Collier, Andrew Fry, Hayden & Alexis Fry, Ashlyn & Ricky Falco, Emily & Jack Flynn, Chase & Casey Fry, Mason Fry, Lily Fry. Her great-nieces and great-nephews, Gus Fry and Rosie Collier. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Al Fry.

Jackie loved the Lord first and foremost. Next to that, she cherished her children and her husband. Beyond that, she loved flower gardening, walking, and pickleball. She and Mark have been members of the Hillsboro Church of Christ since 1990 where she served as a camp nurse, on the ladies' committee, as a Vacation Bible School volunteer, and in countless other roles. She also served with the young girls' ministry at Hermitage Hall in Nashville. As a nurse, she touched countless lives with her love and compassion for every person in her care. She was awarded the high honor of the Guardian Angel Award at Ascension St. Thomas West a few years ago.

The family invites friends to celebrate Jackie's life. Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be held at Hillsboro Church of Christ on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Private graveside services will be officiated by Philip Hutcheson at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee.
