Homer Thomas (Tom) Fetherling, 85, resident of The Villages, Lady Lake, FL, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Tom spent most of his life in Nashville before retiring. Tom was a man of many talents and interests. He was passionate about music, fast cars, and billiards.

A proud graduate of the Cohn Class of '57, Tom maintained strong ties with his West Nashville childhood friends throughout his life. After over 40 years in the automotive sector, he ventured into the vacuum truck business alongside his wife, Betty Carver. He eventually retired in the Villages, Florida.

Tom's retirement in The Villages was far from idle. He became a distinguished member of the billiards club, showcasing his skill and love for the game. His other passions included music, particularly cataloging and sharing tunes from his era and regaling friends and family with stories of his life's adventures.

Tom was the son of the late Matthew and Bernice Fetherling of West Nashville and was preceded in death by his brother Joe Fetherling. Survivors include his children and grandchildren with the late Jane Davis Fetherling: Tara Fetherling (Mike Hunter) and her daughter Haley (David Ball and son Ben); Tania Fetherling Kilduff (Ron) and her children Zach, Aurora and Jeffrey; and Tod Fetherling (Mary) and his children Danny, Laura, Chase and Carolyn. Sisters-in-law: Glenda Fetherling and her daughter Dawn (John Pernestti and son Alex); Carolyn Paul; Cleon Clayton; Janet Norman, Sheila Ledford, and Deborah Fitzgerald and their respective children and grandchildren.

His extended family also survives Tom: Betty’s sons, Tracy Simpson (Renea) and Michael Carver II (Heather), their children and grandchildren, and Betty's sister, Sherry Higgins.

A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life and legacy will take place at Harpeth Hills Cemetery on May 24, 2025, at 1:30 pm, with burial to follow. Tom will be deeply missed, but his spirit of laughter and passion for life will continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched.
