George David Williams Johnson, age 28, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on July 6, 2026. Born on December 5, 1997, in Nashville, George lived with enthusiasm, courage, and a generosity of spirit that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

George never did anything halfway. Once he decided to pursue something, he was all in. Whether he was flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, snowboarding, gardening, beekeeping, gourmet cooking, or diving into a new hobby, he embraced life with passion, curiosity, and a sense of adventure. He loved learning through hands-on experiences that challenged him to grow and through reading, especially books about mythology, adventure, and historical fiction. He was always dreaming up new business ideas and exploring new ventures, often alongside his beloved twin brother, Nathan.

A 2022 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, George worked in Airport Operations at Nashville International Airport (BNA). Aviation was one of many interests that reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for both precision and possibility. He was equally at home on a hiking trail, around a bonfire, in the kitchen creating a new recipe, or planning the next gathering with friends. George loved to cook and create meals to share with friends and family.

George's warmth drew people to him. He had an unforgettable grin, an infectious sense of humor, and a mischievous streak that made every adventure more memorable. George was easy to talk to and remarkably accepting of others. Friends knew they could call him at any hour, confident they would find someone who would listen without judgment, offer encouragement, and, if needed, quite literally give them the shirt off his back.

He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. George was often the glue that held his friend groups together, organizing trips, adventures, and gatherings that created lifelong memories. He and Nathan built a large fire pit on the family farm where friends could gather, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. George believed life was meant to be shared, and he made sure everyone felt welcome.

Family meant everything to George. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and grandson. He loved children, and they loved him in return. He was the fun uncle and cousin who made every visit an adventure. He adored animals, especially dogs, and found joy in caring for them. He valued loyalty, kindness, and authenticity, and he was deeply supportive of those he loved, always encouraging them through life's challenges with compassion and understanding.

George lived life large. He pushed limits, embraced new experiences, and inspired others to do the same. His adventurous spirit was balanced by a generous heart, quiet wisdom, and an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen and valued. He leaves behind countless stories of kindness, laughter, and unforgettable adventures that will continue to be shared for years to come.

George is survived by his parents, Grace and David Johnson; his twin brother and best friend, Nathan Johnson; his sisters, Lucy Johnson and Caroline Pauls (Landon); his beloved nephew, Theo Pauls: his maternal grandmother, Grace "Betty" Williams Kane; his paternal grandmother, Lucy Robinson Johnson; his PB, Lori Griffin; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jack DeHart Kane, and his paternal grandfather, Ed Jordan Johnson.

The family warmly invites George's friends to share stories of adventures they experienced together or moments when George's kindness, generosity, and friendship made a difference in their lives as well as any photos or videos of George that you would like to share. These memories will help preserve the legacy of a man whose greatest gift was the impact he had on others.
