George Ingram, a beloved figure in both his family and the world of music, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2024 at the age of 77. Born on June 17, 1947, George was a talented mastering engineer whose passion for music led to a remarkable career. At just 24 years old, he became the president of Nashville Record Productions Inc. when founder Kenneth Place died. He was later inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2018 for his invaluable 50 years in the industry.
George is preceded in death by his parents Grady and Effie Louanna Ingram and brothers Ray, Davis and Tom.
George is survived by his wife of 59 years Elaine, children Dana (Tim) O’Neal, Deann (Mike) Wooldridge, and Jason Ingram. His grandchildren Amanda (Stephen) Waterman, Michelle Wickman, Tyler Austin, Coltin(Maddie) Austin, and Peyton O’Neal. His great grandchildren Olivia, Canyon, Knoll, Jesse, and Preston, numerous family members, friends and lap dog Milo.
George was more than just a successful business owner; he was the heart of laughter and joy among his loved ones. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and delighted family and friends with his repertoire of dad jokes. He brought smiles and light-hearted moments to every gathering. His warm spirit and playful nature will be profoundly missed by all who know him.
George's little Webber grill was his domain, where he took great pride as the family’s designated griller gathering family members around for delicious meals and cherished conversations. He also had a special bond with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, creating joyful memories as he tended to the pool, ensuring they had endless fun splashing around during their visits.
In life, George found joy not only in his work and family but also in the thrill of the open road. An avid motorcycle rider, he spent many sunny days enjoying long rides on his Harley, embracing the freedom it brought him.
As we gather to celebrate George's life, we will remember him for his unwavering spirit, his love for laughter, and the moments he shared with those he cherished the most. Though he has left this world, his memory will remain alive in the hearts of family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
