Geneva Willene Sheeran, age 86, of Fairview, Tennessee, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 24, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Geneva was born in Fairview on April 1, 1940, to the late Oscar Green Richardson and Ludie Mai Stinson Richardson.

At the age of 16, Geneva became a wife, and soon after, a mother. As a mother of five, she was hardworking, determined, caring, and strong. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children, often working overnight shifts and long hours. Through every season of life, her love for her children remained strong and unwavering.

After many years of hard work, Geneva retired at the age of 60. She had earned every moment of the years that followed.

Geneva loved to cook, and those who gathered around her table knew just how good she was at it. She also had a special love for Christmas. Her home was always decorated to the nines, with a Christmas tree in every room. It was fitting that Christmas was her favorite season, for its faith, love, and light reflected the love and light she shared with those around her.

In June of 1993, Geneva married the love of her life, Joe Sheeran. Together, they shared some of the best years of their lives, enjoying travel, time outdoors, and precious moments with Geneva’s children and grandchildren.

Geneva will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and cared for her.

She is survived by her children, Nathan (Melissa) Dawson of Fairview, Tennessee, Regina (Bruce) Jackson of Fairview, Tennessee, Rex (Patty) Dawson of Le Sueur, Minnesota, Nelson (Tonya) Dawson of Dickson, Tennessee, and Lisa Dawson of Fairview, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Abby (Matt) Lewis, Drew Dawson, Lindsay (Denton) Webb, and Jack Dawson; and her great-grandchildren, Bram, Vivi, and Cara Lewis, and Elsie and Lottie Webb. She is also survived by three sisters and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sheeran, and many loving siblings.

The family will receive visitors at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The service will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Christian burial at 2:30 p.m. Bill Webb will preside over the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Dawson, Rex Dawson, Nelson Dawson, Drew Dawson, Bruce Jackson, and Denton Webb.
