Gary Winton Cowan age 80, passed away on March 17, 2023. Preceded in death by his mother, Mattie B. Cowan.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Cowan; daughter, Cynthia (D.J.) Johnston; grandchildren, Zackery Wakefield, Emily Johnston, Zandria Johnston; sister, Betty Cowan; brothers, Sam Cowan, Bobby Cowan, Pat Cowan and numerous friends and loved ones.

Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and driving Mustangs. Gary was simple, reserved, and quiet. Linda was the love of his life. They enjoyed going to Florida and had a great Bellevue friend group which was known to meet up at Hardees and Wendell Smith for breakfast. Gary was a St. Louis Cardinal’s fan and loved watching High School and College football especially Hillwood High School games. He loved buttermilk and cornbread and was excellent at making Sunday breakfast for the family.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 11:30am ~ 1:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:30pm and burial to follow all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
