Born in Spartanburg, SC to James and Frances Singleton.

Married to Bill Given in 1953 and raised 3 wonderful children.

After moving to Nashville in 1969, Gail became an active member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. She was also interested in government and was an active member of the Women’s Republican Club to which she served as president. During this time she also attended the Republican National Convention held in New Orleans. But her main focus in life was her family and friends.

Gail is preceded in death by her husband Bill and her parents. She leaves behind daughters Gwen Brewer (Gary) Deborah Dalida (Mike) and son Monty. Grandchildren Parker White (Taylor) of Stanford, CA, Matthew Brewer (Leikohu) of Nashville, Katherine Hendricks (Matt) of Nashville, and Paige White of Oklahoma City, OK. Great grandchildren Charlotte Hendricks of Nashville, Emerson White of Stanford, CA and Hokeo Brewer of Nashville.
