Wanda Faye True passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 82 at The Lodge at Natchez Trace in Bellevue, TN.
Born in Bessemer, AL on November 1, 1942, Faye was the first daughter of the late J.V. and Anna Richards. She was preceded in death by her brother Buddy Richards and her parents. Faye is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Dallas True Sr.; her brother Fred (Leslie) Richards; her sister Nancy Hutcheson; two sons, Robert (Bethany) True Jr. and Darrell (Melinda) True; and daughter Jennifer (Robert) Stinson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Lauren (Logan) Bailey, Nicholas (Sophie) True, Austin True, Dalton True, Cayden True, Megan (Mike) Norman, and Madison Stinson, along with her five great-grandchildren Cooper Bailey, Hayden Bailey, Sutton Bailey, Elliott True, and Bailey Norman.
Faye was a woman of incredible strength, wisdom and grace. She devoted her life to her family, always putting others before herself and creating a home filled with love, warmth, and unforgettable memories. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones.
Faye was an eccentric woman with many talents who never backed down from a challenge. Over the years, she worked for St. Regis paper Company, was a pharmacist, became a Cosmetologist, worked at West Gate Bi-Rite, partnered with her husband to start Bob’s Repair Service, drove a school bus, sold real estate, continuously remodeled their home, opened an antique store, refinished furniture, and eventually retired from CVS.
In addition to her family, Faye had two other great loves in life – traveling and flowers. She enjoyed everything from Sunday afternoon drives through the countryside to three-month hauls across the country in their motorhome, visiting as many state parks as possible. Faye had a green thumb like no other. She was a longtime member of a garden club and maintained multiple beautiful flower gardens around her home.
Though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts. Her love and legacy will live on in all of us.
