F. Dan Crowe, NOG
Dan wrote his own obituary, which has been edited only to update the dates. We will gather on Saturday, September 7th 2024, from 1:30-4:30 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville to celebrate and remember Dan.
I was born January 15, 1937 in Chicago and died June 5, 2024, in Nashville. After 87 years, I died in my sleep. That’s pretty good.
During my life, I was lucky. I married a truly wonderful woman Jean. We were married for 53 years and are missed by two children, Dr. Joanna Curran and Navy veteran Andy Crowe; and two grandchildren, Mitchell and Perry. They filled our lives with joy. I was also a long time reader on The Talking Library and a CASA volunteer. I liked it a lot.
I worked as a Brand Manager and Marketing Director for Alcoa, Quaker Oats, and Beatrice Foods. When Quaker Oats moved my family to Nashville over 30 years ago, Jean and I decided Nashville was a great place to live and raise children so I joined Tennessee Pride Sausage. I was always interested in real estate and left marketing to become a realtor, first with Langford/Parks and later with Worth Properties. I enjoyed being a realtor and all the great people I met through it. Looking back, I wish I had done this career sooner.
I have had a comfortable life for my family and our many wonderful dogs, the Cheries and Charlies, whose personalities and antics kept me laughing. To my many friends, know that you made my days full of good fun and thoughts. If you want to donate to a cause, please buy a good bottle of wine and enjoy it with a loved one. Good bye.
