Eric Anthony Larkin
May 30, 1968 – September 10, 2023
Burns, Tennessee
Eric Anthony Larkin, 55, of Burns, Tennessee passed away peacefully at 7:15 PM in his home while receiving hospice care for a long-term illness. Eric had several nicknames, including "Huey" and "Big E", but he most loved being called Dad by his three daughters.
Eric graduated from North Georgia Military College in 1990 with a marketing degree. Although he never pursued a career in marketing, he possessed an exceptional work ethic. For over 30 years, he dedicated himself to his profession as a natural gas pipeline welder. His military training instilled in him a commitment to excellence in everything he did. He shared his passion for his trade with his brother Travis Larkin, who is also a skilled and talented pipeline welder.
In 1992, Eric met his wife, Louise, on a blind date in Atlanta, Georgia. Instantly, he knew they were soulmates destined to be together. They were married in 1995 and welcomed their first daughter, Gracie, in 1997, followed by Shelby in 2000. In 2002, Eric and Louise relocated their family from the big city of Atlanta to the small rural city of Burns. Beverly was born in 2004 and the Larkin Family was complete! Eric always had a strong intuition about what was best for his girls and raising them with six acres to play on and no electronics were his top priorities. His motto was always, "You have to live hard to be hard." This translated to his daughters as, "Anything worth having is worth the effort," and "Life isn't easy, so you better be ready."
Eric is survived by his wife Louise, daughters Gracie, Shelby, and Beverly, his brother Travis, uncles Mickey (Sue) Butler, David (Carol) Butler, aunts Catherine (Bill) Corish, Becky (Denis) Wallace, and his best friend Hampton Lucas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Larkin and Hope Charlotte Larkin, as well as his grandparents Francis and Josephine Larkin and Charles G. and Hope F. Butler.
