Edna Louise Kucker, 91, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on January 9, 1932, to Henry Jacob Long and Mary Long.
She served on the Pennsylvania Railroad as an Executive Assistant before transitioning her career to become the CFO of Liberty Abrasives, Inc. Edna and her husband, Robert, founded Liberty Abrasives in 1981 and grew it for over 30 years throughout middle Tennessee and neighboring states. She retired at the age of 82.
Edna had profound love for baseball and spent countless hours attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Giving her time and talents, she was very active in her community as a leader for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Edna was a Sunday school teacher dedicated to serving the Lord and teaching others about the love and grace of Jesus. She had a quick wit and was an avid storyteller. Through her sacrifices, she gave her children a beautiful life.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert G. Kucker, and her three sisters. She is survived by her loving children, Robert George Kucker, Jr. (Karline), Brenda Kucker Oslin (Bryan), and Barbara Kucker Smart (Eric); and seven grandchildren, Brian Smart (Cadena), Kristen Oslin Pepper (Will), Samuel Smart (Miriam), Bryan J. Oslin (Roberta), Devon Kucker (Brianna), Keirsten Kucker, and Brady Kucker (Alexa); and four great-grandchildren, Athena-Ashlynn Rose Simpson, Anna Kate Pepper, Caroline Lee Pepper, and Adalee Christine Smart.
