Demarquis was born at home in Bon Aqua, Tennessee, September 17, 1929 and passed away peacefully at home in Fairview, Tennessee on March 6, surrounded by family and friends.
Demarquis was born in Bon Aqua, Williamson County. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in Williamson County. He met and married his high school sweet heart, Betty Dean Hughes, on June 10, 1950, and were happily married for 72 years.
Demarquis was a loving, devoted, husband and father to his wife Betty and their three children: Vickie L Johnson (Cliff), Mark Lampley (Priscilla) and Anthony Lampley (Tracy); six grandchildren: Stuart Lane Johnson (Charlene), Charles H. Johnson, Andrea L Arnold, Melissa Larrison (Asher), Marcus Lampley (Kathleen) and Canaan Foster Lampley; eleven great grandchildren: Jacob Hunter, Lane (Abigail), Jackson, Carter, Maxwell, Reese, Alexis, Elena, Gavin, Seth and Eden.
Demarquis was employed and retired after 30 years of service with Western Electic. He was also a successful business man who was instrumental in bringing new businesses into the community he loved.
Demarquis had a unique passion for improving the community in which he lived and constantly striving for excellence.
Demarquis served as a Williamson County Commissioner (County Court) 1960 -1966. During this period of time he worked tirelessly and was successful in improving the schools in the First District of Williamson County.
Demarquis served as Fairview City Manager 1966-1971.
Demarquis served on the Williamson County Election Commission 1975-2007.
Demarquis was a member of the Five Points Church of Christ in Bon Aqua, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Five Points Church of Christ, 9040 Old Nashville Highway, Bon Aqua, Tennessee 37025.

Visitation with the family will be held Sunday March 12, 2023 starting at 12:00 pm until service time at 2:30 pm. Following the service there will be a gathering from end of service until 5:00 pm, all will be held at the Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville, Tennessee 37221
