E. P. "Chic" Morris Jr.

E. P. "Chic" Morris Jr. passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rich with memories and an unwavering spirit. Born on July 30, 1939, Chic lived a life full of purpose and dedication, woven together by his love for family, faith, and his craft.

Chic is preceded in death by his parents, Elires P. Morris Sr, and Clara Ballew Morris; sisters, Edna Dorris and Lily Griffin; and brothers, Thomas, Roy, Harold, Douglas, and Eugene.

Chic is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Anne Morris; daughters, Kerri Campbell (Missy Anderson), and Tammi Rutledge (Lane); son-in-law, Mike Campbell; granddaughters, Leah Kothlow (Adam), Emilie Dudas (Justin); grandsons, Jake Campbell, and Bret Rutledge (Casey); great-grandchildren, Henry Kothlow, Haven Kothlow, Ollie Kothlow, Jack Dudas, Elijah Dudas, Cooper Dudas, and Hunter Dudas; aunt and uncle, Glenna and Rick Bramble; sister-in-laws, Judy Friedli and Brenda Marlin; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Chic distinguished himself as a devoted electrician for Local Union 429, where he devoted 37 years of his life to ensuring that the lights were on and ran smoothly in countless homes and businesses throughout the city of Nashville. His work was not just a job; it was part of his identity, and he took pride in the craftsmanship he provided to the community.

A graduate of Cumberland High School, Chic’s early years were marked by his passion for sports. Notably, he was a football and basketball player, embodying the values of teamwork and perseverance on the field.

Chic was also a dedicated member and elder of the West Meade Fellowship Church in Nashville. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through challenges and enriching his relationships. He touched the lives of many in the congregation.

Chic leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers will be Mike Griffin, Mike Marlin, Jake Campbell, Bret Rutledge, Justin Dudas, and Adam Kothlow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Campbell, Lane Rutledge, Jim Campbell, Tom Hutchins, Albert Cunningham, Glenn Cunningham, and Rick Bramble.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 8th, 2025, starting at 11:30am. Funeral Service will be at 1:30pm, with interment immediately following. All services will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home
