“Fisheye,” “Smoky,” “Big D”
Donald Edward Bruce Sr., lovingly known as “Fisheye,” “Smoky,” and “Big D,” was born on July 27, 1956, and passed away on May 26, 2026. Donnie was a man whose presence filled every room — known for his laughter, his stories, his strength, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.
Donnie lived life on his own terms and made lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Whether you knew him as Fisheye, Smoky, or Big D, you knew someone loyal, unforgettable, and full of personality. He treasured time spent with those he loved and created memories that will be cherished for generations. He was known for his strong spirit, his loyalty to those he loved, and his ability to make people feel welcome wherever he went. He lived life in his own way and left lasting memories with everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
He cherished time spent with family and friends, enjoyed sharing laughs, telling stories, and being surrounded by the people he cared about most. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie H. Bruce and Mary R. Bruce.
Donnie leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts: his brothers, Wayne Bruce and Steven Bruce; his children, Donald E. Bruce Jr. (Leslie), Temissa D. Bruce (Jarrod), Jonathan “Chad” Bruce (Leiah), and Johnnie “Wade” Bruce. He was a proud grandfather to Karlye, Malachi, Brystol, Cole, Taegan, Dalton, Weston, Abbie, Briar, Bryce, Mackenzi, and Kennedi, and a great-grandfather to Camden.
Donnie’s legacy lives on through the love of his family, the friendships he built, and the countless stories and memories shared by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Pallbearers honoring Donnie’s life are Wesley Finch, Wesley Haines, Chad Garner, Lee Crouch, Adam Daugherty, Nathan Chapman, Jody Petty, and Danny Michaels.
Honorary Pallbearers are his grandsons, Weston, Briar, Bryce, Cole and Malachi
