Dolores George

Dolores George age 87 of Nashville, TN died 14 March 2022.

Dolores was born on June 10, 1934 to Orlena and Kermit George in Bryson, Tennessee. She was raised on the family farm in Pulaski with her two younger brothers. At an early age she learned to love hard work and animals. One of her favorite memories was sitting with her parents and listening to the Grand Ole Opry as it was broadcast weekly from the National Life and Accident Insurance Company building in Nashville. Immediately after high school Dolores moved to Nashville and began working as a secretary for National Life and Accident Company. She went on to spend her 45 year professional career with that company. Many years were spent downtown in the L&C Tower and she was always proud of the little girl from Giles County that came to work in the same place as the Opry.

Dolores was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. First as a member of McKendree Methodist and later joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As an active member there she was a children’s leader, a Sunday School teacher and a volunteer in the Nashville Temple. Dolores was a friend to many and will be remembered for her love of music, cats and the Kennedy’s.

She is survived by her brothers Phil and Sam (Faye), and niece Stephanie and nephew Mike.
