Dollie "Joy" Tidwell, 81, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughter and grandchildren.

Born on July 19, 1944, in Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Joy was known above all for her warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and unwavering love for her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved, whether gathered with family or enjoying the company of friends. Her kindness, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Holly (Jason) Hill of New Market, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Gabriel Hill and Caitlin Rios, both of New Market, Tennessee; and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leechie and Dollie Tidwell, and by her beloved husband, James Kenneth Tidwell.

A celebration of Joy's life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association , or the CDC's Healthy Brain Initiative in Joy's memory.
