Diann Weldon Adams, age 88, was born on December 8, 1937, and passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, in the comfort of her home.
Diann was born in Madisonville, KY to Hylda and Freeman Weldon. She enjoyed her adolescence playing with friends in her neighborhood, attending church at Madisonville First United Methodist Church, singing in the choir, and playing percussion in the high school band. After graduation from high school, Diann attended Texas Women's University on a choral scholarship and upon marriage transferred to the University of Kentucky. She was also a member of the D.A.R.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 64 years, Joe B Adams (2023). Diann is survived by her daughter, Lynne (Don) Anderson, sons Tom (Sherry) Adams, and Doug Adams; grandchildren Nathan (Becca) Anderson, Lauren (Zach) Jackson, Wes (Allison) Adams, Rachel (Travis) Gage, Parker Adams, Alex (Jake Robertson, and Joseph Adams; great-grandchildren Haddi and Hayes Anderson, Yates and Kovie Jackson, Blaise Adams, and Judson Robertson.
During her long marriage to Joe, Diann made lasting friendships in Cincinnati, Lexington, Nashville, and Pegram. She considered her greatest calling to be that of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Diann was an accomplished cook and completely dedicated to the family she adored. She and Joe thoroughly enjoyed attending their grandchildren's activities, programs, and especially sporting events. They seldom missed a game/meet/competition, no matter the distance. Diann passionately relished singing in the Belle Meade United Methodist Church choir for the past 54 years and was a lifelong Kentucky Wildcat fan.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Belle Meade United Methodist Church's Music Ministry.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, from 10:00-11:30 am, funeral service at 11:30 am, and burial following at the Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens.
