Condit Franklin Steil, born September 19, 1949 in Ashland, KY passed away January 24, 2022 in Nashville, TN.  He was active with the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, remaining active with the organization as the liaison between Forest Hills United Methodist Church and Troop 93 and Pack 144.  Condit attended the University of Kentucky and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  He was an avid University of Kentucky athletics fan, keeping season football tickets for years.  Condit was passionate about the practice of pharmacy as his vocation and very active in national organizations for pharmacy and diabetes.  He worked in community practice and then in teaching pharmacy.  He taught at Samford University for fifteen years and then became chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department at Belmont University in 2009.  He retired from Belmont and was granted Professor Emeritus in 2019.  This love of pharmacy and health education went beyond a job and into a calling.  As a Diabetes Educator, he regularly volunteered with Camp Seale Harris in Alabama for over twenty-five years.  He was actively involved with his church.  As part of his volunteering with the church, Condit went on mission trips to Belarus in support of the Children of Chernobyl mission.  In Nashville, he was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, where he led Bible studies and Sunday School.  He will be dearly missed.  Condit is survived by his wife, Rhonda, brother, Ed in Sky Valley, GA, son Neal (Rachel) and grandchildren Jack, Sarah Kate, and Miriam in Cullman, AL and daughter Laura in Weaverville, NC.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charlene and Edwin Steil.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Condit to Forest Hills United Methodist Church foresthillsumc.org or 1250 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood, TN 37027 or Camp Seale Harris campsealeharris.org or 500 Chase Park South, Suite 104, Birmingham, AL 35244.
