Clara Nuismer

Clara Nell Nuismer, age 91, from Walnut, Mississippi was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She went to heaven on September 6, 2022.

She was born the youngest of 8 children to Florence and John Hardy Skinner on November 11, 1930. After graduating from high school, Clara passed up a basketball scholarship to junior college to start her career in Memphis, Tennessee where she met her husband, Norm. They were married for 68 years and had 3 children together: Sandy (Mike) Binkley, Jack (Carol) Nuismer, and Beth (Keith) McCord. She is survived by grandchildren, Elizabeth, Krissie, Claire, Beth, Jackson, Anna and Emme, great-grandchildren, Parker, William, Jax and Olivia Carr, sister, Lila Bickerstaff and many loved nieces and nephews.

Clara worked for the U. S. Post Office in Brentwood, TN for over 20 years and loved meeting people and helping them. Spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and many others, tending to her flower gardens, volunteering in every way imaginable at her church, and attending countless sporting events for her children and grandchildren were some of her favorites! There was never a day that she did not put others first. She was selfless and always gave with a kind and compassionate heart. Her love for others was immeasurable, but most of all she loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her love.

There will be a visitation on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 11:00 am until the Celebration of Life 1:00 pm all held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
