Nashville, TN – Cherry Wisenor Long Dumas, a longtime resident of Nashville, TN, passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on September 18, 1947, to Ben and Dot Wisenor. Cherry was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life.
Known as “Mimi” to her family, Cherry was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her beloved late husband, Gerald Dumas, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage, and by her late husband, Don Long, with whom she spent more than 10 years.
Cherry is survived by her loving children: Cari Long Hurt and husband Jon Hurt of Oakland Township, MI, and Casey and Kelly Long of Crestwood, KY. She was a proud Mimi to her five grandchildren: Hallee Smith and husband Duncan Smith, Haydon and Hughston Hurt, and Carter and Kennedy Long.
She is also survived by her siblings, Wanda Portman, Joe Wisenor, and Ronnie Wisenor.
A celebration of life will be planned at a future date.
