Carolyn Louise Viveiros, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Born on June 28, 1950, in West Nashville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Willie Joyce Inman and Arthur Lee Thorne. She grew up largely raised by her grandparents, Elmer and Eva Inman, whose steadfast love shaped the woman she would become. It was in their home and at Pennsylvania Avenue Church of Christ that her faith took root — a faith she carried with her the rest of her life. She gave her life to Christ as a child, and that foundation never wavered.
She built a life defined by her love for Jesus and her family, and by the remarkable career she forged for herself in the construction industry — a field largely dominated by men during that time. She found her niche in quality management for large construction projects, rising through the ranks on her own terms. She retired from Bovis Lend Lease and later founded her own consulting firm, Viveiros and Associates.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Viveiros; her daughters, Ginger Johnson (Patrick) and Christy Shadowens (Matt Vaughn); her granddaughters, Kelsie Krantz (Corey), Lacie Reynolds, Alanah Shadowens (Brady Grippin), and Lexi Vaughn; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson Reynolds, Houston Krantz, Cheyenne Kellogg, and Kendra Krantz.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Lee Gurley; her sister, Judy Hutson; her brother, Elmer Thorne; both of her parents; and her grandparents, Elmer and Eva Inman.
Those who knew her will remember a woman who spoke her mind, led with her heart, and would do anything for anybody. Her love and compassion weren't just words — they showed up in everything she did. Her word was her bond, and she never stopped looking for ways to help. She leaves behind more love than can be measured.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Donelson Fellowship on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the service to follow at 12:30 p.m.
