Carolyn Sylvis Medley

Carolyn Elaine Sylvis Medley, lovingly known as Memaw to her cherished loved ones,

peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at 11:22 AM, after

bravely battling cancer. She was 79 years old. Carolyn resided in Dickson, TN.

Born on March 31st, 1945, in Madison, TN, Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Charles and

Ruby Sloan. She was known for her resilience, wit, and unapologetic spirit. Carolyn found joy in

crafting and especially loved spending time shopping. She held deep faith, cherished her

country, and was passionate about her beliefs.

Carolyn's greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. She adored her dogs Mia and Monty,

spoiling them endlessly. She is preceded in death by her father Charles A. Sloan, mother Ruby

E. Sloan, former husband Thomas E. Sylvis, brother-in-law Sam Pryor, and brother-in-law Don

Barnett.

She is survived by her loving family: spouse Warren Everett Medley, married for 15 years;

daughter Michelle Renee Andrews and son-in-law Kenneth Robert Andrews; siblings William

(Bill) Sloan, Patricia (Tricia) Pryor, Larry Sloan, and Virginia (Inez) Barnett; sister-in-law Etta

Sloan and Brenda Sloan; grandchildren Thomas Dale Andrews, Misti Cheri Dueñez, Jennifer

Guadalupe Andrews, and Billy Joe Dueñez; great-grandchildren Brandon Thomas Andrews,

Brianna Rosario Andrews, William Robert Dueñez, and Wyatt Edward Dueñez; along with 4

great grand cats, 4 grand dogs, 6 grand goats and 11 grand chickens.

The family kindly requests that any donations be made to TN Quality Hospice Care in

Clarksville, TN, in Carolyn Medley's honor.

Carolyn will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, love for her family, and the joy she brought to

those around her.
