Carolyn Fitzpatrick, 82, passed away on August 29, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, joy, and energy that touched everyone who knew her.

Carolyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bruce, her high school sweetheart and partner of more than 60 years. Together they shared a love story that began in their youth and grew deeper with time. Their devotion to each other shaped their family and inspired all.

Born in 1944 in California, Carolyn lived a full and vibrant life. She was a proud alumna of the University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She and Bruce shared a passion for travel, exploring the world together and creating cherished memories along the way. Some of her happiest moments were spent aboard their boat, Time and Place, surrounded by family and friends, soaking in the sun and the laughter of loved ones.

An active and athletic soul, Carolyn loved nothing more than a good game of tennis or golf and could often be found out biking, embracing life with energy and enthusiasm. Her faith was also central to who she was and she found great comfort and community in her church family at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville.

Carolyn had a deep love of gardening and flowers. She took great joy in cultivating and curating her gardens. Her passion blossomed into a flower arrangement and delivery business through which she brought beauty and happiness into the lives of many in the community.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Brennon and his wife, Liz, and Kels and his wife, Jamie. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Tully and Ellie, who is engaged to marry Thomas Mysliwiec.

Carolyn will be remembered for her tremendous energy, her competitive spirit, her love of her gardens, and the deep, enduring love story she shared with Bruce. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit of adventure, faith, and love lives on in the family she cherished so dearly.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 10:00am at First Presbyterian Church. A service celebrating Carolyn and Bruce will follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Nashville or the Alzheimer’s Association.
