Obituary

Carolyn “Ann” Pope passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1947, in Franklin, Tennessee. 

Ann will be remembered as a loving and devoted woman who treasured her family, friends, and the many memories made throughout her life. Ann found great joy in spending time with those she loved. She especially enjoyed trips to the beach, taking cruises, visiting the mountains, and a good food buffet. She loved watching her grandchildren participate in sporting activities and was always proud to support them. Ann also enjoyed home improvement projects and the satisfaction of making a house feel like home.

She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Mary Pope (Cliff); great-grandchildren, Ellymae Pope, David Pope Jr., Addi Pope, Parker Murawske, Carter Murawske, Jenna Murawske, Reece Swiggett, and Kennedi Brown; and siblings, Malcolm Lampley (Patricia), Frances Hall (Rudy), and Cherlene Hyndman (Vance).

Ann also leaves behind dear friends Jessie and Big Mac McElhiney, Tori Hayes, and Lore Roberts, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her greatly.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Marvin Pope Jr.; sons, David E. Pope and William L. Pope; grandchildren, David Lee Pope and Carolyn Marie Pope; parents, Bertha Elizabeth Buttrey and Loyd Dalton Lampley; and siblings, Charles Lampley, Wiolson Lampley, Sheila Lampley, and Betty Boone.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Lampley, Devon Lampley, David Pope, Cliff Murawske, Jeff Bennett, and Ron Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Malcolm Lampley, Vance Hyndmam, Rudy Hall, Reece Swiggert, Parker Murawoke, Big Mac McElhiney, and Josh Bumbalough.

Above all, Ann will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the joy she found in simply being together. Her memory will live on through the stories, trips, laughter, and special moments shared with those she loved most.
