Betty J.
Frizzell
Feb 9, 1931 — Aug 16, 2026
Nashville, Tennessee
Betty J. Frizzell, 95, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose family was truly the center of her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by the people she loved. She especially treasured the adventures she shared with her grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them for years to come.
Betty had a wonderful way of making people feel like part of the family. Her home and her heart were always open, and everyone was welcome, especially the friends of her children and grandchildren. She embraced those around her with warmth and kindness, and over the years, many who entered her life as friends quickly became like family.
Above all else, Betty loved her family. She took great pride in watching it grow through the generations, and the love she gave so freely will remain an important part of her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Dennis Frizzell; parents, Emily Etta and Clyde L. Petty; daughter-in-law, Melanie Frizzell; two grandchildren, Matthew Philip Hollmann and Andrea R. Frizzell; and seven siblings.
Betty is survived by her five children, Denise Duffield (Barry), Sandra Hollmann (Carl), John Frizzell, Alice Frizzell, and Bart Frizzell (Claudine); twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five siblings; and numerous extended relatives and friends.
Betty's 95 years were filled with family, friendship, adventure, and countless memories. While she will be deeply missed, the love she poured into her family and the many people she welcomed into her life will continue to live on through all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
The family cordially invites relatives and friends to gather and share memories of Betty on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from twelve noon until the time of the graveside service at two o’clock in the afternoon at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 9090 Highway 100 in Nashville. Marc Jones will officiate the committal service.
