NASHVILLE - Betsy Jean Whitaker, of Nashville, TN, died peacefully with her family by her side on January 13, 2024, at the age of 58. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who was born to Lester and Phyllis Krueger in Bismarck, ND on September 22, 1965, during Hurricane Betsy. Betsy was raised and educated in Napa, CA, graduating from Vintage High School in 1983. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Les S. Whitaker (son of John and Jeannette Whitaker), on August 11, 1984. Together they had two beautiful daughters, numerous four-legged friends, and called many places across the country home until Les retired from the Navy in 2005, finally settling in Nashville. All the while, she obtained her bachelor's degree from Temple University, had a successful career in business administration, and perfected her skills in the kitchen, garden, and being the world’s best mother.

She had an amazing work ethic. In her current role as Manager of Corporate Contributions and Sponsorships at HCA, she impacted the lives and hearts of many. Her most fulfilling roles were that of a mother and grandmother.

Her wonderful spirit lives on in her large devoted family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Les Whitaker; daughters, Sara Eggers (Preston Eggers) and Katie Whitaker (Tim Kloete); granddaughter, Harper Eggers; sisters, Deborah Pitts (Keith Pitts), Susan Krueger, Cheryl Krueger (Frank Szela); and brothers, Michael Krueger, Daniel Krueger (Roni Krueger), and John Krueger.
