Barbara Ruth Emerton, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on January 5, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee. It is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on December 30, 2025. Barbara's spirit was one of warmth and generosity, and her commitment to serving others was evident throughout her lifetime.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, William A. Wilson and Daisy D. Wilson; brothers, Willie Potts Jr., Jimmy Wilson, and Johnny Wilson; and sister, Louise Rutland.
Barbara is survived by her children Loretta Chandler, Paul Jordan, Michelle Tuten (Richard Wilcox), Charlie Lawson, and Chance Lawson; grandchildren, Cody, Bethanie (McKenzie), Heather (Zack), Brittanie, TJ, Jordan, and Jason; great-grandchildren, Zynlee, Ryker, Zackery, Harper, Elijah, and Waylon; siblings, Ada Crawford, Tommy Wilson (Debbie), Judy Jones, Debbie Humphrey (Gary), and Robbie Wilson (Donna).
From an early age, Barbara displayed a profound love for volunteering alongside her family and friends. Whether it was lending a hand at community events or quietly helping those in need, her selflessness knew no bounds. Barbara had the ability to light up any room she entered, extending kindness to all she met. Her unwavering availability and readiness to assist others made her a cherished figure within her community and family.
Barbara had a deep passion for flowers and gardening. She found joy in nurturing plants and watching them bloom. Her garden was not just a collection of flowering plants; it was a testament to her spirit, a reflection of her love for life. Her flowers were to be marveled at with their vibrant colors and fragrant blooms; they paralleled Barbara’s spirit well.
As we remember Barbara, we celebrate the legacy of love and service she leaves behind. Her kindness and passion for helping others have touched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 from 9:30am until 1:30pm. The Celebration of Life will be at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 17th, 2026.
