Anna Horner Dorris, age 92, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. Born on March 27, 1933.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Dorris; her son, David O'Riley; sisters, Nadine Ryan and Thelma Kephart; her parents, George and Jessie Horner; and her cherished fur babies, Kenji and Asia.
Anna is survived by her children: Dennis (Mary K) O'Riley, Steven O'Riley, and Cynthia Neely; grandchildren Crystal (Prentice) Richardson, Kelly O'Riley, Stephanie (Brandon) Moore, Leigh (Mark) McManus, and Morgan Miller; great-grandchildren: Kylee, Dylin, Preslie, Olivia, Luke, Evelyn, Collins, and Jack, and her great-great-grandson, Joshua James "JJ." She is also survived by her sister, Georgia (Bobby) Burroughs; brother, Ronnie (Sequoia) Horner; and many dear friends and extended family members.
The second of five children, Anna was known for her spunky personality and strong will. In her younger years, she enjoyed reading and creating ceramics. She opened her heart and home by running a daycare for ten years, nurturing countless children along the way.
A longtime member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, Anna taught Sunday School and remained deeply committed to her faith. She was a dedicated grandmother who played an active role in her grandchildren’s early lives, offering guidance, support, and endless love. Her dogs held a special place in her heart, and she treated them like family.
Anna will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit. Her presence in the lives of those who loved her will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
