Ann Marie Stewart

April 14, 1960 — October 24, 2025

Arlington, TN

Ann Marie Stewart, born April 14, 1960, of Arlington, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by her loving family October 24, 2025. She was the devoted wife of Danny Lee Stewart for 42 years, and the cherished mother of Elizabeth Prager (Matt Prager) and Christina Lewis (Jason Lewis). She was “Maw Maw” to her adored grandsons Mason and Liam Prager, and eagerly awaited the arrival of her soon-to-be grandson, Sonny Lewis.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Bob Condrey, and her brother, Robert Condrey. She is survived by her husband, daughters, grandsons, and brother Eddie Condrey (Sue Condrey).

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Ann moved to Memphis at the age of 18, where she built a beautiful life and family. Together with her husband, she helped start the youth group at Hickory Withe Presbyterian Church, later becoming a dedicated member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Ann worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for over 20 years and was admired for her diligence and kindness. She enjoyed tending to her garden, family vacations to the beach, Disney, and Chickasaw. She loved and fed all animals—especially her beloved dog, Benny —and was known for her warmth, hospitality, and the best fudge pie and potato salad you ever tasted. Memories were so important to her, she collected rocks from every vacation placing them all around her home to remind her of the wonderful adventures of each place.

Ann treasured her friendships deeply, especially her lifelong best friend, Julie Swygert, affectionately known to the family as “Aunt Julie", and Sheree Doyle who she raised children with bare foot in the country.

Her greatest love, above all, was her family—especially her grandchildren and her “Peanut” on the way. Ann’s legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in her name to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee or Plant a Tree in Memory through A Living Tribute.
