Bro. Avery and family, Tony and I are heartbroken, but happy for Mrs. Vernie. She is up there with her Lord and Savior and all those she has loved and have gone on. I never knew a greater, sweeter couple than Bro. Avery and Mrs. Vernie. They taught us so much about God and love for each other. God will reward them greatly in heaven, I know. We will be praying for all the family, especially Bro. Avery. Love you all….

We have so many fond memories of Ms. Vernie and Hope Baptist Church. She had a way with words, could make anyone laugh, and could put together the best grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches and apricot nectar cake. We know how important family was to her and know that she will be missed by the ones she loved most. We are praying for all of you. May the peace and comfort of God fill your hearts and sustain you in the coming days. We love you.

My prayers are with all of you. Your strong faith and strong family bond are examples to the rest of us of how life is supposed to be lived. Such beautiful love for each other through it all. My heart hurts with you. I will continue to remember you in the days ahead.
