Sam D. Walkup- November 1, 1935 – April 28, 2019.

Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Mildred Walkup; brother, Bruce Walkup.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Walkup; daughter, Shannon Walkup Jenkins; grandchildren, Joseph Alexander Kenneth Jenkins (Kaitlyn) and Kiely Catherine Jenkins; great-grandchild, Stella O’Kiely Jenkins; sister, Mary Ann Walkup Prince; niece, Angela Walkup; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Sam’s first job at fifteen was at Finch’s Country Store, where he still visited and had many friends. His life was filled with many hunting and fishing trips. His fun loving and joking personality was loved by all.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th and 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday with the funeral to follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville.

    We are so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. We had known him for so long and Billy and him worked together so many years at UPMH. He always seemed to be in a good mood when he worked at Capitol Printing. His
    memories will live on.

    Sam was a very good friend as we grew up in Pegram. He being a few years older than myself, helped me
    as I started Belview HS. We had many baseball games and times we played at their home. Fondly missed.

    Mary ,my prayers go out to you ,.watching the video ,i know that Sam had a lot of joy in his life,you being his greatest,the Grandchildren all over him with their love,Life will go on,they will be there beside you
