Odie May Gordon, age 89 of Franklin went to be with her heavenly father Friday, December 20, 2019. She was born May 26, 1930 in Graham, TN to the late Earlie and Bessie Potter. Odie is also preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Gordon and nine siblings.

Odie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In her younger years, Odie worked at Aladdin Electronics. She loved children so much that she owned and operated Nannie’s Daycare until her health failed her. She had a sweet spirit and a great sense of humor. She was our angel in our children’s live Christmas nativity. This Christmas, she will spend with Jesus.

Odie is survived by her children, Gayle Boone (Daniel), Faye Goggins, Elaine Wise (Bill), and Jerry Gordon; Grandchildren, Daniel Boone Jr., Matthew Boone, Emily Boone-King, Jason Wise, Brandon Wise, Julie Goggins-Klar, and Lisa Goggins-Slate; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathan, Ryan, and Caroline King, Gwyneth and Austin Slate, Madison and Haden Wise, Emma Grace and Miller Wise.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. – 12 noon Friday, December 27, 2019 at Judson Baptist Church. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 12 noon at the church with Reverend Carl King officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m in the Garden of Serenity of Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.

    So sorry to hear of the loss of Ms. Odie. She was always such a delight to talk to on the phone and so kind. I know you will miss her dearly. You all took such good care of her.
    It was my priviledge to have known her. May God minister to your hearts and give you comfort at this time.
