On April 21, 2017, Rebecca Lynn Gray, daughter of George and Julia Gray of Waynesboro, TN, lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer. Lynn was born in Nashville, TN, on May 31, 1970, and shared her gregarious nature, independent spirit, quick intelligence, and zest for life all the time in between.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Reau and Rebecca Graves and Jonas and Grace Gray, she is survived by three brothers and a sister: Stephen (Sally) C. Gray of Cedar Rapids, IA; David B. Gray of Nashville, TN; Glenn (Samantha) Gray of Hobbs, NM; and Leigh Gray (Brian) Waggoner of Cookeville, TN. In addition, Lynn enjoyed relationships with her extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and more recently nine great nieces and nephews. Equally numerous were her friends and colleagues from Wayne County High School, Columbia State Community College, Belmont University, and her professional life.
Those who wish to celebrate the vibrancy Lynn brought to them may do so on Sunday afternoon, May 7, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, TN. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and conclude when the memorial service starts at 3:00 p.m. Interment at Sunset Cemetery in Stewart, TN, will take place at a date to be determined later.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn’s memory may be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN; the First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro, TN, or to charities of your choice.
