Larry Madison Burnett, Sr. joined his Savior and his wife, Libby, of 60 years at his eternal home on December 29, at the age of 84. Larry lived his life as a paragon of duty to God, family, and community, serving each humbly and with the utmost love. His company and council will by missed by his family, friends, church, and neighbors. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Frances Burnett, sister Venita, and nephew Bobby. He leaves behind to cherish his memory brother, Ranse (Gloria) Burnett; children Mary Beth (Rody) Blevins, Madison (Dawn) Burnett, and Rebecca (Stan) Lee; grandchildren Rachael (Chris) Manhard, Roderick Blevins, Abby (Robert) Fortenberry, Hillary Burnett, Cameron Lee, and Catie Lee; great granddaughter, Sophia Manhard, and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family. His legacy of duty, humility, and service- along with his jolly laugh- will endure always within the hearts of all who knew him. The family will hold a private graveside service this week, with a larger celebration of life to follow when health and safety permit.

Elliott, Jason, AJ, Alana and myself will forever cherish the Sundays that we got hugs from Larry. He was such a special Christian friend and loved by us all. We will be saddened to see his empty seat behind us but at the same time rejoicing that he’s in God’s presence with Miss Libby. Our prayers are with the family during this time of loss.

We at Maple Valley Baptist Church would like to extend our deepest sympathy and prayers for the entire Burnett Family. Mr. Larry was a dear brother, friend, Deacon, and servant of the Lord. His laughter was infectious and his smile lit up a room. His devotion to God, family, and church has been a great example for all to follow. His love for the youth was evident by his kind words of encouragement to them and his support of youth activities. We rejoice in his Homecoming in Heaven with Ms. Libby and our Savior Jesus Christ. His legacy of love will carry on for generations to come, and he will always have a place in our hearts. Well done good and faithful servant.
    Blessings; Pastor Jimmy Andrews

We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers for the entire Burnett Family. Larry will be missed by all who knew him. I did not have the privilege of growing up with Larry and Rance even though they are cousins. I regret that we will not be able to attend the funeral as we are in Florida. May you feel the loving comfort from God.
