Judy Joanne Hutcherson- Age 76, June 1, 2020.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Hutcherson, Sr.; father, Walter Taylor, Sr.; mother, Louise Taylor; sister, Barbara Wilson (Rex); twin sister, Linda Dianne Hatcher (Buford).

She is survived by her brother, Walter Taylor; son, James Hutcherson, Jr.; daughter, Kristen Brom (Dennis); grandchildren, Kayla Hargrove (Jacob), Evan Hutcherson (Nick), Will Hutcherson (Lindsey) and Clinton Hampton; grandchildren by marriage, Jessica Ervin, Courtney Brom and Dylan Brom; honorary daughters, Susan Sagash and Debbie Clabo.

Family and wonderful friends meant the world to Judy. She loved parties and large gatherings. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas, mostly because she knew these two holidays would bring family time. She will forever be remembered for her ability to make the best tasting cornbread dressing. Christmas Eve was when the family would gather at her house to celebrate. She was always so excited on this day. She cherished the true meaning of Christmas; However, she was also drawn to the beautiful decorations and packages that Christmas brings.
She loved the sunshine and hanging out in and around the pool. Some of her fondest memories were made in Destin and Panama City Beach FL. She loved a good road trip. These trips were usually taken with friends and family.

She will also be remembered as a creature of habit. She would get stuck on something and would seem to not let go for a while. The folks at QVC, Dunkin Donuts, and Hallmark miniature shoe collection would agree by saying “yes, we know Judy, and this is true”.

Judy asked that her death not be a sad occasion, but a celebration of her life. She wanted us to remember who she was and how she loved. Her family finds great comfort in knowing Judy was a child of God and was welcomed into Heaven immediately upon her passing. A peaceful feeling washes over them when they envision her with a renewed body and spirit and, a family reunion like we could never experience on Earth.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hutcherson, CK Hampton, Will Hutcherson, John Hatcher, Dylan Brom and Jacob Hargrove. Dennis Brom will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 12 p.m. on Monday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Judy and I worked together for many years at the State of Tennessee. What I remember most about her is her sense of humor. Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord, may she rest in peace.

I worked with Kristen for most of my life and we instantly became good friends. I do believe God has another special angel who has rejoined old friends and loved ones who left before her. I saw this quote and loved it. “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.” — Eskimo legend. Praying for many clear nights and comfort for Miss Judy’s family and friends. This is not goodbye, just so long for now.

I will never forget Momma Judy. After I lost my own mom many years ago, Momma Judy became my surrogate mom. She tried to keep me in line, just like my mom did. I have so many wonderful memories of playing cards and driving down to PCB with her, Kristen and the family. I know that she loved me like a daughter and often told me so and I loved her too. Fly High Judy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family in this time of sadness. I hope the coming days you hear the many wonderful stories from all the folks that loved her and that you are flooded with amazing memories from the past.

I only know Judy through hearing Kristen talk about her, but if she raised Kristen, she must have been a beautiful and kind soul. I am sorry for your loss. Your family is in my prayers.

Judy and her family have been wonderful neighbors and friends of ours for many years starting out as next door neighbors in Burns. We rode together to work and I also have worked with Kristen in Revenue. We are so sorry to hear the news about Judy and we will keep the family in our prayers.
