Johnny Wayne Travis- Age 70, Nashville, January 5, 2019.

Preceded in death by his wife, Connie Travis; brothers, Freddie Travis and Tommy Travis; sister, Betty Lou.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Travis; children, Chad Holmes and Clay Travis; step-children, Edith Griffin, Jamie Nelson, Richard Steve Christy and Mikki Bohanan; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Lois, Geneva and Evelyn; sister-in-law, Barbara Travis; many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to his longtime friends for their tremendous support, Tony Mitchell, Jerry Miner and Eric Deal.

He was a proud Vietnam Vet and proud to be in the local 429.

A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery.

    My sincere condolences to Johnny’s family.
    I enjoyed the years we worked together at Saturn. I have many, many great memories of Johnny and Tony working together there! We truly had some very unique experiences!
    Johnny Rest In Peace my friend. You will never be forgotten.

    Johnny was a good stepfather to us & grandfather to our children whom he watched grow up since the beginning. He was loved & will be very missed.

    Rest now Johnny, as we was all blessed to know you. Never will you be forgotten. Love always

    Johnny was the first love of my life. In 1972 I was so proud to call him my friend because of his service to our country.
    Mrs. Travis was a special friend to me the time Johnny and were friends.
    My sincere sympathy goes to the sisters, wife, children and friends of Johnny.

    I was in the crowd of friends as seniors , he was a friend he taught to drive standard on his 56 ford . We were called Cat Town Gang lots of memories rip Johnny wayne. Years have flown by

    I knew Johnny for 11 years.He is my best friends husband.I was with Debbie his last remaining hours.He went very peacefully with no pain.May he rest in peace.

    I had a huge crush on him in the first grade. He was so kind to everyone. He will be missed.
