JOHN M. (Jack) FERGUSON passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born December 24, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee. A graduate of Father Ryan & MTSU, Jack served in the Navy during the Korean war on Ships and also as a member VR-8 Transport Squadron on the Lockheed Super Constellation, traveling all over the pacific, and living the good life stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After the service, he was employed by Sears and quickly became a top appliance salesman. He attended Forest Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed many friends as a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He was a member of Post 5 of the American Legion and marched in many a Veterans Day parade. Whoever met him knew him as a funny, kind southern gentleman who would do just about anything for his friends and acquaintances.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, his sons, Brad and Barry Causey, and his daughter, Janelle (Jack) Waggener. His grandchildren included Michael (Stephanie) Wennerlund, and Alexander Causey, Amy Waggener, Kerri (Nathan) Morey.
He is also survived by his 3 beloved great grandchildren, Rylan Morey, Charlotte and Harrison Wennerlund.
Jack and Barbara moved to Belmont Village 2 years ago and have loved the care of the staff, especially Missy! They enjoyed many a lively conversation with their dear friends at Table 15, the “Elite Group”. Barbara would like to express thankfulness for the wonderful love and exceptional care that Jack received from Caris Hospice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018, at 2 PM at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until the 2 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Forest Hills Baptist Church Music Ministry, 2101 Old Hickory Blvd, NASHVILLE, TN 37215.
