Kate, I am heartbroken to hear that she is gone. Did not know anything was wrong. She called me not long ago and had a long conversation. We planned to get together to go out to eat. I have been having health issues and never got back to go. I will miss her. We have been friends for a very long time.

Thirty two years ago, BJ Mitcham was the first resident we met in Kingston Springs. The year before, we had moved to Nashville from northern Indiana. BJ was our realtor and she was determined to find us our forever country home. Indeed she did, in great style and enthusiasm for her beloved little town. I recall her telling this city couple “ this ones got paved road and city water,” all the while the homeowner butchered a fresh kill deer in his front yard. She never missed a beat on that one. She put us back in that old Jeep she owned at the time and off we went to the next listing.
Bj was successful in finding our “ forever country home and in the process we found a forever friend and neighbor. You will be greatly missed sweet lady. Our condolences to the Pace family and Grover. ❤️

Kate, Riley and Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

I miss B J. She was a dear friend as we talked almost daily. Kate, Riley and Steve were the highlights of her life and they were so devoted to her. She was a precious treasure of tidbits and so interesting to talk with. She knew everyone from Kingston Springs to Franklin and had sold many of them their homes. I had no idea how short her time really was as she still had a lot of living to do….

    Dear Kate, Riley, and Steve,

Kate, working with you off and on for years at the agency has given me the opportunity to witness the love you, Steve and Riley shared with your mom. I have always been impressed that work or anything else stood in the way of you taking care of B.J. Being a Home Health Nurse gave me the privilege of getting to know B.J. She was so sick but always smiling. Over and over she always talked about the excellent care that each one of you gave to her. You all were always by her side in everything. She was so proud ,and so thankful for your devoted love. She said “I couldn’t ask for a better family”, “They are here everyday” Riley comes by after school everyday and takes care of me”. As many patients that I have seen, I have never seen any family take as good a care of their parent as you all did. It was truly a blessing to see.

    Love Tina

I can’t remember where, when or how I met B.J. It seems like I’ve known her all my life. I met her later in my life We became friends quick Had a lot of things in common & shared many of same interests One being the daily crossword in the newspaper She was better at it than me Sometimes we would get busy with our lives & would not talk for awhile When we did it always seemed like it was just yesterday I laugh when I think of some of the funny things she said & did without trying to be funny Right now I cry to think I will not talk to her again But I know that will pass & iI will have the memories The gathering for her was beautiful & just what she would have wanted She touched the lives of so many people from so many different walks of life Thankyou Kate for sharing “Ma” And Thankyou to BJ for being my friend
