Ida Woodward

Ida Onzel Woodward, 90, went to join her Savior on July 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Fredrick Ralston “Woody” Woodward, and daughter, Linda Paulette (Andrews) Apple. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Florence, Alabama, but Castalian Springs, Tennessee was her beloved home of 52 years.

She was warm and caring, and if you met her, you could not help but love her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was proud to be a life-long church member, a physical therapy provider for more than 30 years, and an active member of the Eastern Star. She loved reading, classic movies, traveling and spending time with her long-time friends Tish and Linda. She especially enjoyed the beautiful roses growing by her front porch. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, whom she put above all else.

Onzel leaves behind a legacy of her three daughters and two stepsons: Gerry Warren (Ernie), Debbie Manning, Theresa Mayo (Michael), Fred Woodward (Terri), and Bill Woodward (Anne).  She was also blessed with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation and memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation: 9:30am to 12pm, Service: 12pm, Burial: 1pm
