I would like to thank your organization and each person involved with the candlelight memorial event at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens on Saturday night.
My father, William Lee Bullard, passed away in 2011, and my grandparents are also buried at the cemetery there.
Although other members of my family have attended the event in the past, I live out of town and this is the first time I have been able to attend. Each year when my relatives have attended, they have commented that the event was very special, and I was touched to know that the memory of my dad and my grandparents was being honored in that way.
Attending the service myself, though, was even better than hearing about it. The experience seemed very serene and peaceful; I was moved by the quiet and even the darkness and the cold, which somehow seemed very tranquil.
We stood by the graveside for awhile and later drove up to the top of the hill and looked down at all of the candles; the way so many of them were flickering in the darkness made it look like thousands of stars in the clear night sky, which was just spectacular.
I know much effort and care is put into the event each year and want to let you know how appreciative my family and I are of that.
Thank you, and happy holidays!
Very Sincerely,
Stephanie L.
