Cemetery Options
Our cemeteries provide a beautiful visiting place to honor and remember your loved ones. Trees, benches and manicured lawns create a warm setting for our families, friends and visitors. Our staff takes great care to keep our grounds looking beautiful for every visit that you make to our park.
The following is an explanation of the different options families have for disposition in our park, including a glossary of terms that we hope you will find helpful.
Community Ground Burial
The traditional grave is a beautiful resting place. Acres of groomed, landscaped grounds provide a peaceful atmosphere amid the rolling hills of our perpetual care gardens.
Gardens & Private Family Estates- Walled and Hedge Gardens
Private family estate areas have been set aside for those who would like a special area for their family. We offer gardens divided by stack stone walls, manicured hedges and open areas with two to sixty-four spaces.
Mausoleum
A mausoleum is a choice for those who prefer above-ground burial. Either casketed remains or cremated remains may be placed in a mausoleum. Casketed remains are placed into crypts, while urns are placed into niches. Niches, which are small compartments in which urns are placed with glass or granite fronts may be personalized. We provide the largest selection of mausoleum crypts in the area. Choose from community or private mausoleums, with designs for every taste. Visit our grounds at Harpeth Hills to see our Bell Tower and Mountain View Mausoleums.
Cremated human remains are usually placed in an urn, which is then permanently placed indoors or outdoors.
Columbariums
A group of niches, called a columbarium, provides a unique outdoor placement for cremated remains. The niches are usually granite and marble fronted, with personalization available on bronze plates.
Indoor, glass-fronted niches inside a mausoleum provide permanent placement for cremated remains. Niches provide space for an urn and other mementos to be displayed.
Cremation Gardens
We are currently developing two cremation gardens offering a wide variety of urn placement. At Harpeth Hills our cremation garden is designed around a small lake, providing a peaceful setting.
Economically priced bronze fronted niches include a custom inner urn, as well as a personalized name and date plate.
